Why you don’t need to lose weight to do the portrait shoot?

As a portrait photographer, I have many women saying they are not ready to do the portrait photo shoot because they don’t feel comfortable with their body weight or they need to lose weight. And I understand it. But the truth of the matter is you are just fine they way you are and you really don’t need to lose extra weight to look beautiful on the photos.
As a portrait photographer here is the main fact that I have learned through 17 years of experience:
Anyone can be photogenic – there’s no such thing as not being photogenic.
The reasons why you don’t need to lose extra weight to do the portrait photo shoot are:
1. I WILL CAPTURE YOU BEAUTY
My job and the whole purpose and goal of portrait photo shoot is to make photographs that you love. When you come for a portrait photo shoot first thing we do is a double makeover – we style your hair and do the makeup. With a double makeover and you wearing your favorite outfits (I call it dress for success) you will already feel beautiful and special.
During the photoshoot, I will pose you and move your body so that the curves flatter you and guess what: you will enjoy every minute of it.
2. CHANGE YOUR SELF IMAGE
Rather than denying your body and being ashamed of it why don’t just start accepting it and what is a better way to do it than by doing the portrait photoshoot. It is an opportunity to get comfortable with yourself and accept your size and shape and start enjoying your body.
3. CONQUER YOUR FEARS
Fears, fears, fears, we all have them. Fear of whether you will look good, fear of whether people will make fun of you, fear of looking at those photos and not liking yourself. We all know how that body image can be distorted. Challenge your fears and see whether the perception of your body is real in the first place.
4. BECOME A ROLE MODEL
Yes, you have read it right. So many women struggle with their body image and suffer needlessly. By choosing to do the photoshoot you can make a statement and show other women with same struggle that size doesn’t matter, and that you are beautiful the way you are.
